Nanda Vigo

Biography

After graduating from the Institut Polytechnique in Lausanne and an important internship in San Francisco, Nanda Vigo opened her own studio in Milan in 1959. From that moment on, the essential theme of her art became the conflict/harmony between light and space, which the artist uses in her work, also as an architect or designer. Since 1959 she frequented Lucio Fontana's studio. Between 1965 and 1968, she collaborated and created with Gio' Ponti the Casa Sotto la Foglia, in Malo (VI). In 1976 she won the 1st St. Gobain prize for glass design. Vigo's works are permanently present at the Triennale Design Museum. In her activity Vigo works with an interdisciplinary relationship between art, design, architecture, environment, she is involved in many projects both as an architect and as an artist.
