Leonardo Fortino was born in 1986 in Crotone. At a young age, Leonardo collaborated with a painter and sculptor to whom he owes his passion for materials and his interest in art, which led him to move to Rome where he graduated in Industrial Design from La Sapienza University in 2009, the year in which he founded the Spigoli Vivi studio, which deals with self-production and installations. In 2013 Leonardo Fortino Design was founded, a product and interior design studio for companies and private clients. Selected to take part in Italian and international workshops, in 2017 he decided to leave Rome to move to Milan, where he collaborates with architecture studios and companies on design projects, with a focus on art direction and product research/development. His designing process passes through perceptions and colours; he loves experimenting, combining experiences and different materials and, finally, simplifying. His works have been presented at international trade fairs such as the Salone del Mobile in Milan and Tent London, in exhibition spaces and galleries including the Triennale in Milan and CAFA Art Museum in Beijing. Since 2019 he has collaborated with Driade in the development of new products in the R&D team.
