Once upon a time, homes contained small, useful objects. For smoking rather than sewing, for serving rather than displaying: they punctuated living spaces. Giuseppe Chigiotti, in designing “Ping,” thought back to those bygone eras and sketched a servant available in two versions: Ping I, characterized by its now-forgotten function as a pocket emptier, and Ping II, a discreet surface for a glass or a book.
