In designing the “Bo” chair, Starck began with the traditional rules for stackable chairs: narrower front legs, and rear legs positioned outside the seat. But he immediately transformed these rules into a distinctive design feature. Bo, in fact, takes advantage of the widening at the point where the seat becomes the backrest. Thus, when analyzing “Bo,” stackability is forgotten, and stackability, when necessary, is achieved without any formal effort.
