Philippe Bestenheider

Philippe Bestenheider graduated in architecture from the ETH Zurich. From 2001 to 2006 he was senior designer in Patricia Urquiola’s studio before opening his own studio. He has taught at the Royal College of Art in London, the FHNW University of Basel and the Domus Academy. Her designs combine a rational and logical approach with an uninhibited sensitivity to shapes and colours. He likes to start with a simple but strong idea, which he develops organically to achieve novel yet familiar and surprising solutions.
