Driade, the new door of design in Dubai
Thanks to the Driade brand, the third edition of the Dubai Design Week – held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority – will be hosting the new Monobrand boutique in the Dubai Design District.
Partnered with Gruppo LeCercle, the long-standing and eclectic high-end furniture company established in Milan in 1968 will be opening its new store which, for this occasion, will become an art gallery exhibiting the iconic pieces that have contributed to making Driade famous all over the world.
The elaborate and baroque collection of vases and centrepieces in blown glass designed by Borek Sipek, Bohemian artist whose extravagance has produced authentic masterpieces, is endorsed by Piazze Italiane – the famous trays designed by Fabio Novembre – and the charming Miss Lacy chairs – skilfully crafted objects produced by Philippe Starck’s impressive creativity.
Other exhibits include Liba, a rattan chair designed by Borek Sipek, the unmistakable Nemo chair by Fabio Novembre and the newborn Sissi, a vain, sculptural, versatile and contemporary chair designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba.
This special layout, curated by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, will be presented in the evening of 14th November during the opening ceremony conducted by Roberto Palomba himself. The gallery of iconic pieces will be later replaced by Driade’s new 2017 collection of proprietary living and dining room furniture.
