Kazuyo Komoda was born in Tokyo and studied at the Musashino University of Art. She started her career in industrial and interior design in Tokyo.
Since 1989 she has been working in Milan. After collaborating with Denis Santachiara, she established her own studio in Milan. Her activities involve several aspects of design, with a focus on researches about colours and materials, while she takes part in events and exhibitions both in Europe and in the Far East.
She works, among others, for Acerbis International, Driade, Dornbracht, Elica, Ferrero, I 4 mariani, Matteograssi, Pandora Design e Yamaha Motor.
Her designs gained several publications on outstanding international magazines such as Domus, Abitare, Interni, Casa Vogue, DDN, Domina, Modo, Ambiente, Casamica, MD, Nikkei Architecture, Nikkei Design, Wind, Brutus, Blue Print, Disegno Interior, Ardi, Brain, Dom i Biuro and International Design Year Book, Esquire.
